Skinpen & Morpheus Micro Needling | Treatments

Commonly referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), SkinPen skin needling is a minimally invasive procedure that involves using the needling device to trace over the skin’s surface. Attached to the tip is a disposable and sterile cartridge that contains tiny needles. These needles puncture the skin to create a micro-injury that is not visible to the naked eye.

This process stimulates a wound healing cascade within our skin, to kickstart your collagen, improve texture and tone as well as skin tightening.

Purpose: Can work to revitalise the under eyes, scars, pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, pigmentation and stretch marks. Additionally, the treatment can address concerns related to ageing, pigmentation, texture, stretch marks, and acne scarring across a wide range of body areas, including the face, neck, and abdomen.
Time it takes: 1-2 Hours, dependent on the area to be treated
Pain level: Minimal discomfort is felt, typically the more bony areas such as the forehead, chin and upper lip is where most of the discomfort will be felt
Anaesthesia: Not required, as the treatment is non-surgical. Although, a topical numbing cream can be applied pre-treatment to aid discomfort
Results: Individuals may notice results with just one treatment, but the process of collagen remodelling is a long-lasting process as new collagen begins to be formed at around the 6 week post treatment mark. This is why multiple sessions may be required to achieve desired results. Fantastic results will begin to become visible after 3 months, however tissue remodelling will continue to happen at a dermal layer for the continuing 6-12 months
How many treatments do I need? See progressive improvements from each treatment, 3 treatments are recommended in 4-6 week intervals for the best results.
Downtime: An inflammatory skin response will occur in the skin during treatment as this is what we want to see in the skin – this is what stimulates and builds our new collagen. This response can make the skin appear sunburnt. Redness, tightness and tenderness are completely normal responses, as well as some pinpoint bleeding may be visible. This redness will generally subside 24 hours post treatment and the skin will turn more pink in colour. The skin will generally return to normal 4 days post the treatment. Some individuals may experience dryness 3 days after the procedure.
